Upcoming In Person Basic Training

I'm including this on the referral forum due to a glitch we have on the Training Forum. Please share this with anyone you know who may be interested in the Basic Training. Thank you!

Hi –

DCBH is hosting EMDR Part I and II Training .  Our staff and anyone in the community is invited to attend.   EMDR Consulting (https://emdrconsulting.com/) will be providing the training.

Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) is used internationally for the treatment of trauma and negative self image/thoughts issues.  If you want to learn more, please check out the EMDRIA website: https://www.emdria.org/about-emdr-therapy/

This course meets all of EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) requirements for an EMDR Basic Training Course. Integrating EMDR into your Clinical Practice teaches mental health clinicians the foundations of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through lectures, videos, demonstrations, and practice sessions between participants. At the completion of this course, participants will have applied the Adaptive Information Processing theoretical approach to psychotherapy, demonstrated the eight phases of EMDR therapy, and identified how to utilize EMDR with a variety of clinical populations. Special instruction is given on varying applications of bilateral stimulation that uses a client-centered approach by addressing the needs of each individual client. As of 2020, this course also teaches clinicians how to utilize EMDR in a telehealth environment.

This training is open to any therapist/counselor/intern who is practicing with a Masters degree or in a Masters degree program. Please check with your supervisor prior to enrolling .  You’ll need to have supervisor approval if you are not licensed.

Here’s the details:

Dates:  Part I is held  November 8-10, 2024 (Friday-Sunday)  in Stan Owen in the Courtney Building.  This will be all day for 3 days from 8am – 5pm.

Part II is held January 31-Feb 2 (Friday – Sunday)  in Stan Owen. This will be all day for 3 days from 8 am – 5 pm.

Signing up for this training means you are committing to both parts.  We are unable to have people attend for just one part.  Please block out both weekends in your schedule/calendar now.

Continuing education credits are provided by EMDR Consulting.  EMDR Consulting also provides the required consultation following the training, or you can participate in the DCBH existing consultation groups.  I

You are able to start practicing EMDR after Part I, but need Part II to be fully trained.

The cost is per person for both Part I and Part II.  Check the website for cost options and what pertains to you.

Registration deadline is 10/28/24.
